Alberobello
Alberobello was built in the XV century from the Earl of Acquaviva of Conversano, but its great development starts in 1635, thanks to the “Guercio di Puglia”, the earl Giangirolamo II. The centre of Alberobello is considered national monument and is part of the U.N.E.S.C.O. heritage. The town is well known in all the world as the Trulli capital. The monumental area is composed by the Contrada Moroni and Contrada Aia Piccola, completely built with groups of trulli forming a web design of streets that climb along the hills creating a magic landscape. In the Monti area, in via Monte Nero and in via Monte Pasubio there are the most ancient Trulli as the Trullo Siamese. To be visited is also the Trullo Sovrano the only one built before the year 1700 and the San Antonio church (1927), interesting for its unique shape floor and its traditional building style.
